Wacken Open Air 2024: More bands confirmed for their next edition

The german festival is still unveiling its next edition by adding 9 new bands to the 2024 lineup.

The grandiose German festival Wacken Open Air, which has been serving the metalhead community since 1990, continues to gradually reveal the bands that will be part of its 33rd edition, which will once again take place in the town of Wacken from July 31 until August 3, 2024.

The latest confirmations have been included in the advent calendar that the festival’s own production organizes on its social networks, thus revealing the new additions to the lineup: As Everything Unfolds, Bentontod, Fiddler’s Green, Beasto Blanco, Butcher Babies, Nachtblut, Asenblut, Van Canto and Opeth. These nine bands join those that had previously been announced during the month of December, so far: Testament, Armored Saint, DragonForce, Insomnium, Spiritbox, OOMPH!, Rage, April Art, Molly, Zebrahead, Accept, Bokassa, Don Dokken, Dear Mother and Alligatoah.

Of the thirty-three bands that are part of the first confirmations, Scorpions stand out as the headliner. The band led by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker that throughout its more than five decades on the road continues to enjoy good health condition after the release of their latest full-length to date, Rock Believer, released in 2022 under the Vertigo Berlin label. Some of the names that attract the most attention in its next edition are Pain, Watain, Blind Guardian, Exumer, Primordial, Red Fang, Blues Pills or Wolf, a wide variety of bands and genres to which the festival has accustomed its audience.

For the moment, the Wacken Open Air main event is completed with Mayhem, Bury Tomorrow, Amon Amarth, In Extremo, Beast In Black, Ankor, Sonata Arctica, Knorkator, Fed Up With Everything, The Black Dahlia Murder, Unleash The Archers, The Warning, Motionless In White, Future Palace, Xandria, Soil, Flotsam & Jetsam, John Coffey, Emil Bulls, Brutus, Ignea, Vio-Lence, Vreid and Asagraum.
