Vipassi: Listen to their new single “Morningstar”

Australian extreme progressive metallers Vipassi have recently unleashed their new single Morningstar accompanied by a visualizer video now available on their Youtube channel. Their first full-lenght album Lightless would be out on January 26 via Season Of Mist label, pre-orders are already available through their website.

Vipassi‘s drummer Dan Presland stated about Morningstar: “A terrifying glimpse of the world beyond, visions of the future and its potential“. The band also says: “‘Morningstar’ is the true beginning of the spark that propels us through the album’s journey toward its haunting finale“.

Lightless will consist of eight new instrumental tracks with a total running time of 50 minutes. The album artwork has been created by graphic artist Xenoyr. The album was recorded at Bushido Studios in Melbourne (Australia) with additional recording in Gandia (Spain) and Bordeaux (France).

The instrumental australian quartet currently consists of guitarists Ben Boyle (A Million Dead Birds Laughing, Black Lava, Hadal Maw) and Benjamin Baret (Ne Obliviscaris, ex-Primordial Space, Maer), bassist Arran McSporran (Cosmitorium, Splintered Soul, Virvum, ex-Seven7) and drummer Daniel Presland (A Million Dead Birds Laughing, Black Lava, ex-Aphotic Dawn). Their debut EP Śūnyatā was released in February 2016, only 250 copies were made in a limited digipak edition.

Vipassi was originally made as a project between drummer Daniel Presland and guitarist Ben Boyle as far back as 2007 to explore new concepts and sounds not currently engaged by their projects at the time. However, the band has since then grown and expanded to an international connection of like-minded musicians and virtuosos with Arran McSporran (Fretless Bass) and Benjamin Baret (Guitars).
