Song of the day: “Punishment Is Absolute” by Impaled Nazarene
For some time now I have wanted to recommend a song by Impaled Nazarene but I could never decide on any in particular. I could have easily chosen Armageddon Death Squad and stayed that wide but that would have been the easiest resource, and also effective of course. Reviewing again the superb and irreverent Latex Cult (Osmose Productions) from 1996, I have had to decide between two or three wonderful songs that are both vulgar and catchy from a total of fourteen songs that do not add up to more than 30 minutes in total.
My first option had been Masterbator, although he later discarded the idea of focusing on Motorpenis, which he also finally discarded to claim an authentic gem of Finnish black like Punishment Is Absolute, which is part of this devastating fourth studio album by the Oulu quartet. As usual, in addition to the fast way of playing of its members we also find the typical grotesque and graphic lyrics where Impaled Nazarene attacks everything possible: “Reveal your inner beast, enter the dome of pleasure and pain. Kneel before your master and obey and when I say obey you will suck it!“.
