Saltatio Mortis unleashes new single “Finsterwacht” featuring Blind Guardian
Medieval metal band Saltatio Mortis recently announced that their new studio album Finsterwach, the fourteenth album in their long career, will be released on May 31, 2024 through Napalm Records. Saltatio Mortis has shared the title song of the new album in which Blind Guardian collaborates, whose video clip will be available starting today and which you can see below:
Finsterwacht is a concept album set in the universe of the role-playing game The Black Eye that refers to the watchtowers in Aventuria, the fantasy universe in which the aforementioned role-playing game takes place. For this, the band has collaborated with authors Bernhard Hennen and Torsten Weitze. In addition to the album, a novel and a role-playing campaign based on the eponymous scenario will also be released.
Saltatio Mortis has collaborated with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra on Finsterwacht to accompany selected pieces from the album. Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Peyton Parrish, Faun and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) also participate in the album as guest contributors.
