Merrimack unveils their new single “Dead and Distant Clamors”

The French black metal project Merrimack, active since 1994, is preparing the arrival of its long-awaited new studio album Of Grace And Gravity, which will go on sale on March 8 via Season Of Mist. To promote this new album, the sixth in the career of the Parisian quintet, the band has recently released the second single from the album Dead And Distant Clamors, which can now be heard on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

“This song pays tribute to old-school black metal, embracing its desperate atmosphere and incorporating haunting, slow sections reminiscent of a depressive waltz“, says the band about Dead And Distant Clamors. “Guitars engage in a conversation around a hypnotic crescendo, while the vocals articulate the inevitable possibilities of decay. Expect nothing less than a pure homage to the essence of darkness“.

Of Grace And Gravity is Merrimack‘s third album released under the Season Of Mist label after having released her successful previous album Omegaphilia (2017) and having reissued the long-out-of-print debut album Ashes Of Purification (2002). The album was recorded at Studio Sainte Marthe in Paris (France) and is produced, mixed and mastered by Francis Caste. The elaborate cover is the work of Portuguese graphic artist Nuno Zuki (Belial Necroarts).
