Holycide release third single and video from their upcoming album “Lie Is The New Truth”
The Spanish thrash metal band Holycide led by vocalist Dave Rotten (Avulsed, Christ Denied, Decrapted) has recently released the third single from their new studio album Towards Idiocracy that will be released on June 6 through Xtreem Music.
“The lyrics of this song talk about the current era of fake news. When we don’t like some truth, we cover it with fake news, creating another fake news with this, and sometimes, we know positively that something is fake news, but even so, we settle for giving it credibility, simply because it agrees with our ideology, in what it seems that anything goes. We have become accustomed to living with lies and hoaxes, which are the new truth… making the infamous Göbbels right: a lie repeated a thousand times becomes a truth“, says Holycide‘s vocalist Dave Rotten about their third single Lie Is The New Truth whose video clip can be seen below these lines.
Towards Idiocracy will go on sale on June 6 coinciding with the International Day of Slayer in CD, 12″ LP formats limited to 250 units (100 splatter and 150 black), Cassette (limited to 50 units) and digital formats. Holycide was formed in Madrid (Spain) in 2004 although their debut was not released until 2015 with the release of their EP Toxic Mutation, which was followed by the first full-length Annihilate… Then Ask! in 2017. The band released their second album Fist To Face in 2020 and published the Bazookiller EP in 2023, garnering good reviews from the specialized press.
