Famous for his groundbreaking music with Celtic Frost, Hellhammer and Triptykon, Tom G. Warrior has always broken new ground in heavy metal, leaving his name written indelibly. Triumph Of Death is a project born from the ashes of Hellhammer, aiming to pay homage to the raw energy that defined the early days of extreme metal. On February 3, 2024, Athens will experience an incredible event: the first live performance of Hellhammer performed by Tom Gabriel Warrior’s Triumph Of Death.
Hellhammer, founded in Switzerland in 1982 and originally under the name Hammerhead, is one of the main bands that contributed to the development not only of black metal, but of all extreme metal in general. Their primitive lo-fi sound and unholy aesthetic set the stage for a new era in hardcore music. Although the band dissolved very soon, only in 1984 and after having managed to release three demos in addition to Apocalyptic Raids EP (1984), their influence on the entire movement was immeasurable. Tom G. Warrior, the driving force behind Hellhammer along with his traveling companion almost from the beginning, Martin Eric Ain (RIP), formed Celtic Frost, further cementing his status as a visionary in the heavy metal scene.
