The band comments: “Wizery is about the misery on our planet after evil wizards has managed to put spell over Earth and its population. The ones who has not yet been put under the spells of hell, has to make a desperate attempt to flee into space to escape the place that has now become the darkest place in universe“.
More about Guenna:
Guenna are four guys who met when they studied music together in 2018/2019. After they all realized they miss cranking their amps and smashing the drumheads with raw power, Robert suggested starting a stoner band! While Robert were newly in love with stoner rock, his and Albin‘s top three list of bands both included AC/DC and Black Sabbath, while Viktor and Oskar don’t even have a top list of bands, but some of their mutual favorite bands include Rush, and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
The result of their creativity and widely mixed influences became, to quote Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, QOTSA): “Guenna sound like if YES played heavy stoner music, with all the harmonies and stuff. And I mean the good part of YES! It’s fucking rad!“. Others say progressive stoner rock.
While none of the members originally are from Malmö, Guenna is now based in Malmö, Sweden, the best geographically place in the country to connect with Europe. Guenna is ready to go intercontinental to share their art.
Only a couple of months after the band was formed in the fall of 2019, the debut EP Guenna was released in March 2020. In November of 2021, Bongsai was released via Eat Heavy Records, on the compilation vinyl Eating The Swedish Underground vol. 1 consisting of Metalpodden’s selection of the eight best unsigned Swedish bands.
