Blind Guardian releases an updated version of the song “The Quest For Tanelorn” from upcoming album “Somewhere Far Beyond Revisited”

The Germans Blind Guardian, a key band in the development of power metal throughout history, have recently released an updated version of their classic The Quest For Tanelorn that has the term “Revisited” added to its title, which implies that the quintet from Krefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia has once again covered this iconic song originally released on their fourth studio album Somewhere Far Beyond (Virgin Records) in 1992.

The Quest For Tanelorn is the first preview of the updated version that the bards have made of their iconic album Somewhere Far Beyond, which in August 2024 will be released in physical format, including the same list of songs that make up their fourth album, covered with the current lineup. with the only difference that Somewhere Far Beyond Revisited features drummer Frederik Ehmke who has been in Blind Guardian since 2005 while the original album included his former drummer Thomen The Omen Stauch (Mentalist, ex-Coldseed, ex-Savage Circus). Similarly, vocalist Hansi Kürsch performed the bass tracks on Blind Guardian between 1987 and 1997 while in this new version it is very likely that session musician Barend Courbois (Michael Schenker Group, Vengeance) will be in charge of the bass tracks as he has been doing since Beyond The Red Mirror (2015, Nuclear Blast).
